What We're Buying: The Perfect Fashion Week Accessory, a Metallic Party Dress and More!

Have you bought anything you loved lately? In the PEOPLE StyleWatch offices, the answer to that question is usually “Yes.” This week, one style blogger shares her must-have Fashion Week accessory. Plus, two dresses that were just too pretty not to purchase and a serious deal on a pair of shoes.

Elaine Daneshrad H&M HatCourtesy Elaine Daneshrad

Elaine Daneshrad, Fashionlaine blogger: I’m known as the go-to headband type of girl as it has been my signature for years now. Yet it seems to me, as I get closer and closer to the fall/winter season (RIP summer!), I’ve been slowly putting the headbands to the side and instead looking for a good hat to keep me and my head company.

From fedoras to that Heisenberg-esque type porkpie, it seems like my collection keeps growing (in both quantity and dimension) every day. So when packing for the Big Apple and NYFW, hats are going to be my immediate go-to must-have to bring along with. And of course, when I can find an amazing steal for an equally amazing looking style, I’m all for it — which is why this H&M wide-brimmed number is everything and more.

Check out Elaine’s fashion blog for more of her style tips and insight, and visit her Instagram and Twitter feeds!

Wayf silver dressCourtesy Brittany Talarico

Brittany Talarico, Associate Style Editor: I’m getting married in a month, so I’ve been doing a ton of shopping lately, between buying outfits for the honeymoon and other pre-wedding related activities. So when I saw this metallic Wayf dress on a mannequin at Nordstrom, I was intrigued. Then when I saw the price tag (it’s under $70!), I knew I had to get it. I love how the slightly boxy shape balances out the mini hemline. And the silver sheen makes it look luxe. As you can see from the photo above, I already found a “pre-wedding” event to wear it too with my fiancé.

Alex Apatoff, Senior Style Editor: The last time I bought a Tucker dress on Gilt was also the first time I got a hard lesson in the perils of “final sale.” It sat unworn in my closet with tags on for years before I finally sent it to ThredUp. But I had a good feeling about the brand’s Classic Mini Dress — it was the same shape as the one they made for Target that I wore until it disintegrated.

It just arrived and it’s even cuter in person. It fits, it flatters, the butterfly print is whimsical without being nauseating and it looks as good with bare legs as it will with tights when it cools down a bit. And since it was half off, I felt much less guilty buying this one than I did my poor, unworn “Disco Dress” years ago.

Tamara Mellon dressCourtesy Gilt

Catherine Kast, Writer-Reporter: I clearly have a shoe shopping addiction, but it just so happened that my interview with Tamara Mellon for our Fall Fashion Special (on stands tomorrow!) corresponded perfectly with her New York City sample sale! So in addition to trying on amazing fringe skirts and a coat with a cape, I walked out with three pairs of her fabulous heels that will get me through the fall without buying more (here’s hoping!). My favorite of the set were these leopard print calf-hair “Trouble Maker” heels that clock in online around $1000. Let’s just say I got such a great deal that buying two other pairs (booties and a basic pump) did not break my bank in the slightest.

Have you bought anything you loved lately? In the PEOPLE StyleWatch offices, the answer to that question is usually “Yes.” This week, Brittny Gastineau shares the moto jacket she’ll be wearing all fall, plus, one editor finds her wedding earrings and more purchases we can’t wait to tell you about.

Brittny Gastineau, star and founder of Gastineau Clothing: I love what I call “investment pieces.” A great leather jacket is a must have in anyone’s wardrobe. I love mixing high and low pieces to create a cool look. I just got this awesome Topshop jacket and love that it’s fitted so I can wear with a t-shirt or dress it up with a dress.

Jesse Draper, Fashion Expert: I am always on the look out for the hottest new trends in wearable technology! As the host of the Barbie & CFDA Fashion Inspiration Lounge at Fashion Week, I was looking for something stylish and trendy, but also innovative. I’ve been following female innovator Deepa Sood since she started her smart jewelry company Cuff.io — a line of wearable tech jewels so stylish I haven’t taken them off! Each “cuff” has a small device called a Cufflinc that you can move from one piece of jewelry to another. This tiny module alerts you of any calls, calendar notifications and even tracks fitness! The “cuff” is so versatile that you can wear it anywhere from Fashion Week to the gym!

Brittany Talarico, Associate Style Editor: I’ve been debating a lot over wedding earrings, but now we’re getting down to the wire (one month!) and I knew I had to act. Luckily, I was able to swing by the Dannijo showroom to check out the brand’s new bridal collection, and I fell in love with a million different things. (The brand’s jewelry is so much fun to play dress up with.) I committed to these classic “Charlotte” studs, which aren’t too big, but still make a statement. I love the antique feel and in person they really, really sparkle. It feels pretty good to have one more thing crossed off my bridal checklist. Plus, checking out the showroom was so much fun — shout out to Loni for snapping a pic of the magic!

Lulu Guinness uniqlo sweatshirtCourtesy Uniqlo

Loni Venti, Style and Beauty Editor: Since I rarely leave the house without my lips painted red I’m a sucker for apparel that’s covered in kisses, lipstick or any other beauty-related kitsch. My heart nearly stopped when I accidentally discovered the tees and sweatshirts that Lulu Guinness designed for Uniqlo. I would have bought literally everything (they’re all under $30), but the stock was already low on sizes so I ordered the blue mani sweatshirt you see here, this Marilyn Monroe-esque tee and this randomly awesome makeup shirt. My casual weekend wardrobe is set! In other exciting Lulu Guinness news, she’s got an adorable, affordable purse collection for JCPenney.

Joie BootiesCourtesy Piperlime

Sarah Kinonen, Editorial Assistant: Thanks to the cooler weather we’ve been experiencing here in NYC — and due to my personal lack of appropriate footwear — this week I’m buying (read: splurging) on these gorgeous black leather Joie “Rigby” booties. From the all-black look (I tend to stick with neutral-colored clothing and shoes), to the wearable heel height (I also don’t do too well in sky-high heels), I plan on wearing these babies all through fall and praying they can survive the snow. And at a somewhat affordable price point ($375 is still a little over my budget), I’m going to go ahead and click “check out” now.

Have you bought anything you loved lately? In the PEOPLE StyleWatch offices, the answer to that question is usually “Yes.” This week, Nicky Hilton dishes on the bag she’ll be carrying all season. Plus, a pro baseball player shares the new tech purchase he can’t travel without and more staffer buys we’re so excited to share with you.

Brooklyn Purse by Linea PelleCourtesy Linea Pelle; Inset:Splash News Online

Nicky Hilton, Designer and Style Author: I’m always looking for a cool, unique purse that I won’t see every girl walking down the street with. My “It bag” days are over! I prefer unusual styles, fabrics and colors. I love this edgy, sophisticated Linea Pelle purse for fall. I love the dark hardware — it’s anything but ordinary, yet it’s practical at the same time. It’s perfect for day or night. My sister recently wore the black version to my book signing in NYC, and I fell in love with it.

C.J. Wilson, professional baseball pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels and Head & Shoulders spokesperson: I’m always taking photos and lately have been using my new GoPro as a travel camera, since it fits in my pocket and can get light and wide angles that regular DSLR cams just can’t create. My team and I recently went to Boston and I took the GoPro inside the Green Monster to shoot all the signatures inside. It’s a lot less hassle to carry it, and I can wifi to my phone and post right away to Instagram. For the price, it’s really amazing.

Topshop Eyebrow PencilCourtesy Loni Venti

Loni Venti, Style and Beauty Editor: I love everything about makeup … except for the brow pencil. It looks amazing on other gals, but I’ve never been able to rock it without looking like Groucho Marx or Elvira. I’ve tried hundreds of pencils, gels, and shadows before (wish I was exaggerating) and no dice. But this weekend, a friend of mine with crazy-perfect arches filled me in on her secret weapon: This double-ended magic wand from Topshop! It is hands down the best brow pencil I’ve ever used. The pencil side is really creamy, blends in really easily and the color looks super-natural. The brush side is great for blending and keeping wonky hairs in place. Check out how natural my brows look with a little Topshop action here! Bonus: It’s less than half the price ($10!) of most pencils like it.

Vince Basket Weave Embossed Moto VestCourtesy Piperlime

Catherine Kast, Style Writer: Like many ladies around the office, I’ve got a go-to moto jacket. And while, yes, it goes with everything, I don’t necessarily want to wear it with everything, if you know what I mean. Enter this Vince vest, which is currently super on sale on Piperlime! It’s a dark steely gray-blue, and rather than perforated leather of the moment, it’s embossed so it’s got a little texture. It’s single-handedly the only item that’s getting me excited for the fact that it’s not summer anymore! I can’t wait to layer it over a 3/4 sleeve LBD, or wear with leggings, a relaxed raglan sweater and over-the-knee boots.

Vince Basket Weave Embossed Moto VestCourtesy Amazon

Alex Apatoff, Senior Style Editor: This weekend, I went to the inaugural St. Regis Polo Cup in Sonoma, California (yes, I am aware of how bougie that makes me) and the dress code was “wine country equestrian chic.” Because I decided that literally nothing in my closet fits that description with three days to go before the event, I went on an Amazon Fashion spree, only shopping pieces that I could get with the two day Prime shipping option. (I wish I was joking.) Among my finds? This totally adorable, totally flattering and not-super-spendy French Connection dress, which looked cute with my rose-gold sandals and sleek clutch — but I think will also work with tights and booties when I’m not sipping wine while watching handsome polo players ride galloping horses up and down the field.

Rent the Runway AccessoriesCourtesy Brittany Talarico

Brittany Talarico, Associate Style Editor: This is a “What We’re Renting” that turned into a “What We’re Buying.” After a successful trip the the Rent the Runway storefront in N.Y.C., I decided to go back to get some fun accessories for my bachelorette party this past weekend (with only three weeks to go until my wedding, all of my purchases are somehow nuptial-related). I went a little crazy in the jewelry department, leaving with a pair of Dannijo crystal “Nahm” earrings and triple-drop earrings featuring blue stones with crystal trim from House of Harlow. As for the rings, I mixed metals with a Ca and Lou double ring featuring a blue stone (inset above) and an Elizabeth and James “Miro” knuckle ring, which I loved so much I just ordered one — to own! — online. And since I went for an all white outfit (I’m milking this whole bride thing) I added the Gigi New York “Uber Python” fuchsia clutch for a pop of color.

Have you bought anything you loved lately? In the PEOPLE StyleWatch offices, the answer to that question is usually “Yes.” This week, we’re sharing our absolute can’t miss picks in a new gallery, What We’re Loving Right Now — as well as the hottest finds from Chrisley Knows Best star Savannah Chrisley and <em Run's House star Angela Simmons.

Savannah Chrisley, star of Chrisley Knows Best: Scott Barnes’s Body Bling Illuminator was love at first try for me! It’s a moisturizer, bronzer and highlighter in one with the perfect golden, shimmery pigments that make your skin look even and glowing from head to toe. For my fair skin tone it works like magic to create a sun-kissed bronze that’s natural and vibrant — and it’s not too “summery,” so you can use it year-round. I use it almost every day. I’ll admit, I might be obsessed!

Angela Simmons, Fashion Designer and Entrepreneur: For a frequent traveler the perfect eye mask is a treasured find. My day-to-day schedule is so hectic that when I travel I enjoy being able to rest. This eye mask has truly been a lifesaver and allows me to sleep peacefully while flying and have enough energy when I land. I never leave home without it!

I picked up this Henri Bendel eye mask while traveling for my #LoveTravels photoshoots. It helps me get my beauty rest to then have the energy to embrace travel destinations when I land. I love the luxe look of the stripes and how the cool gel pack soothes any puffy eyes leftover from tons of plane travel.

Rita Hazan, celebrity colorist and owner of Rita Hazan Salon in N.Y.C.: I love my black Givenchy bag because it’s simple. It is also big enough to fit everything I need for my day-to-day, and then I can still add a few extra items in there if I need to. It has easy access to all the compartments and a zipper which I love so I don’t have to worry about anything falling out. The shape is great, unique and a classic bag I will have forever. It kind of reminds me of an old doctor bag.

Erin Walsh, celebrity stylist and Dove Advanced Care Deodorant ambassador: Fall is one of the best style seasons of year, and I love wearing winter whites that offer a sense of warmth but are also crisp, clean and stylish. I absolutely adore this dress from Isabel Marant, especially given its reinterpretation of a sleeveless style in a cozy knit fabric with a bold geometric Navajo print. Sleeveless is something you can do in every season, and I love how it can communicate a sense of power and confidence. This look is great with the short hem and paired with the boots it pay homage to Jane Birkin’s street style and is overall just so effortless and cool.

We Tried It: Faux Freckles

We Tried It: Rocking faux freckles

Who Tried It: Maddy Zollo, Assistant Beauty Editor at PEOPLE StyleWatch

Why I did It: Fake freckles were all over New York and London fashion week — from realistic ones at Preen, Vivienne Westwood and Adam Selman to star embellishments at Tommy Hilfiger and A Détacher. I’m never one to shy away from off-the-wall beauty trends, so how could I not put this look to the test? Plus, Topshop even created a “freckle pencil” for their fall makeup collection, which meant it had to be cool … right?

Level of Difficulty: 3 (one point for making sure you have a steady enough hand to draw them on and two points for the sporadic pangs of self-consciousness you are sure to experience when people stare and wonder what the heck is all over your face)

StyleWatch's Maddy Zollocourtesy Maddy Zollo

I’m not going to lie, this wasn’t my only foray into the land of fake freckles. My initial experience was when I was twelve. It was Halloween and I was Pippi Longstocking, complete with overalls, a flannel shirt, and two pieces of wire braided into my hair so my pigtails would stand on end. The second go-round was for a “Wild West”-themed party in college, but let’s be serious, I’m sure most people had consumed enough jungle juice that they didn’t even realize I had them on.

Which leads me to the hardest part of my freckle experiment: Convincing myself (and everyone else) that it wasn’t just a costume, but simply part of a makeup look like a statement lip or smoky eye.

To create my more spotted look for day one, I turned to TopShop’s pencil. Its formula is two shades of brown swirled together, so when you press the pencil onto your cheeks it leaves a more natural mark than brown eyeliner would. It was super-simple to use and in less than ten minutes, I had transformed my usual clear complexion into a full-blown freckle party.

The first person to see me was our beauty director. Given that I’ve worked with her for over four years, it came as no surprise that she immediately asked me what on earth I was doing. Throughout the rest of the day, it never took more than thirty seconds for my coworkers to call me out on it. It always started with slight confusion (similar to how it takes a second to notice someone’s new haircut), followed by reactions ranging from “Oh, they don’t look that bad” to “This is one of your weird beauty experiments, right?”

Towards the end of the day I had a meeting scheduled with someone who didn’t know me. The entire time I could only focus on whether or not they thought I was a freak with eyeliner all over her face. As we were wrapping up, I finally caved and asked if they knew my freckles were fake. They gave me a weird look, then asked, “Really?” Success! My freckly complexion and I had fooled at least one person!

StyleWatch's Maddy Zollocourtesy Maddy Zollo

For day two, I decided to up the ante and go more avant-garde with “star freckles,” like the look that Kendall Jenner rocked at Tommy Hilfiger. Work was not the place for me to get honest reactions about my look, so I decided to wear them over the weekend.

Conveniently, two of my friends were throwing an apartment party on Saturday, and I knew a ton of people would be there. After bedazzling my cheeks with star stickers I bought at my neighborhood toy store (and after making sure that my dress matched the stickers’ color scheme, because priorities), I was off.

When I arrived, the party was hopping, drinks were flowing and there was definitely a 70/30 ratio of guys to girls (two thumbs up). Within minutes of entering, a stranger walked up to me and complimented me on “my flair” then asked if he could have some too. Luckily, I packed the rest of my sticker sheet and shared the star love with him.

Much to my surprise, the stars garnered a lot of attention. I couldn’t go for more than a few minutes without a new person (to be specific: a new male) coming up and making some “clever” comment about them. Here were some of the best:

“When you walked in here, I was like everyone stand back, Lady Gaga is here!”

“You look like you’re a kindergarten teacher who got drunk at school.”

“You’re Kesha’s twin and that’s a good thing.”

However, the females at the party were a different story. I’ve never experienced more icy stares in my life and my friend even overheard a cluster of girls talking about how weird I was with “that stuff” on my face. Finally one of them walked up to me and said that Joan Rivers should rise from the dead (R.I.P. Joan) and put me on Fashion Police. Well, as Taylor Swift (currently sporting faux freckles of her own on the cover of British Vogue) would say, haters gonna hate.

The Verdict: If you really want to fool people, use Topshop’s pencil (but remember, less is more!) and surround yourself with strangers. But if you’re single (which I’m not — hi Nate!), an attention junkie or a lover of bad pickup lines, star freckles are the way to go. Just be warned, the next morning these suckers will be everywhere. (See: My iPhone charger above.)

Would you be down to bedazzle your face?

We Tried It: Wrinkle-Reducing Face Patches

Who Tried It: Jackie Fields, Beauty Writer

Why I Did It: I’ve discovered at the ripe age of 30-something that some of my expression lines are overstaying their welcome. And I tried smizing, but turns out that gives me a headache (a supermodel I am not).

Level of Difficulty: 1. You know where your wrinkles are, so simply stick these products on top of them — both come with handy visuals just in case — then sit back and let the clock turn back.

Best wrinkle patchesCourtesy Jackie Fields

“Can I launch a Kickstarter for Botox?” asked my BFF as we fretted over our new furrows at a recent dinner. While I am fairly certain the answer is no, the query inspired me to search for some pain-free, wallet-friendly solutions to these unsightly lines.

First I tried my hand at Furlesse. The brand sells four packs of patches aimed at reducing the look of wrinkles: “Rows” for your forehead, “Crows” for around the eyes, “Lip-Sticks” for around the mouth and “Elevens” for between the brows. Each pack costs $20 and provides a 30-day supply, so I figured if they worked, they’d make the perfect stocking stuffer for that friend I mentioned.

At the end of a long day I decided to give these a whirl in the most logical of places–my office. Hey, I figured I wouldn’t miss a wrinkle under this fluorescent lighting. I was so surprised by how discreet they looked that I decided to slip out of the building and into a cab home with them on! I won’t say the cab driver didn’t notice them, but he certainly made no mention of it, which increased his tip twofold.

Remember when you were a kid, and you would put tape on your face for [insert gross reason here]? What I always remember from that experience was how annoying the tape felt. In contrast, these adhesive strips couldn’t be more comfortable. However, they do gently force your face to relax, so it’s best to wear them when you’re truly winding down. I fell asleep with them on (they’re hypoallergenic, a major bonus), and when I woke up hours later they hadn’t budged! After peeling them off (it doesn’t hurt) my skin looked brand new, and stayed flawless for a couple hours.

Wrinkle reducing patchesBest Wrinkle Patches

A few days later, it was time to test Skyn Iceland’s Hydro Cool Firming Face Gels. Truth be told, I was already a longtime fan of the brand’s Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels. I had been known to plaster my forehead and the sides of my mouth with them, so I was pretty excited to see these appropriately-sized products launch. Plus, they pack additional ingredients that restore firmness in those areas (try all three patches at once in their genius Face-Lift in-a-Bag!).

They don’t call these “Cooling Gels” for nothing. Popping these on feels sooo relaxing. In fact, I refrained from adding the eye patches also because it was beginning to feel a lot like a Red Door Spa in my office—and I needed to focus! I forgot they were on until they started to peel a bit, and by then 30 minutes has passed! But even after wearing them for three times the recommended amount of time, while my skin looked supple immediately after, I felt my lines became visible again sooner than I’d hoped.

The Verdict: Neither stands a chance against Botox, but both provide immediate results that make them worth working into my regimen (and slapping on an hour before a big date). I’ll surely be sleeping in the Furlesse for the foreseeable future, and since Skyn Iceland is meant to be used once a week, I’ll include it in my weekend get-ready routine so I can plump up my skin and continue to party with the best of ‘em.

Would you be down to pop on these patches?

Denise Rich, Songwriter and Founder of the Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research: This time of year, I’m busy planning for my Foundation’s annual Gala, the Angel Ball (which was last night – see Sofia Vergara’s gorgeous dress!). So I am constantly on the move but have to remain stylish. My favorite way to do that is with my favorite Cavalli women’s leather slipper. They are extremely comfortable for running from meeting to meeting during the day, and the gold trimmings and small heel make them easy to transition from the office to dinner out at night. Wearing these slippers with Keysocks heightens the comfort level even more because their unique design helps keep my feet warm on cooler fall days in New York.

Denise Rich is a songwriter who has created hits for Mandy Moore, Diana Ross and Jessica Simpson. She started the Gabrielle’s Angel foundation to honor her daughter, who died of leukemia in 1996. In addition to fundraising through her annual galas, she also has partnered with Keysocks to donate the net proceeds from these socks to her charity. For more, follow her on Twitter.

Have you bought anything you loved lately? In the PEOPLE StyleWatch offices, the answer to that question is usually “Yes.” This week, we’re sharing our absolute can’t miss picks in our gallery, What We’re Loving Right Now — as well as fitness star Jennifer Cohen’s new must-have accessory.

Jennifer Cohen What We're BuyingCourtesy Jennifer Cohen

Jennifer Cohen, fitness expert and author of Strong Is the New Skinny: As a busy mom who is constantly on her feet all day, it is extremely important to prepare for my day the morning or night before. This is why my Merin bag is my everything! It not only is oversize, being big enough to carry everything I need for the day, but it’s fashionable too.

What I pack in my bag is even more important. First and foremost, I can never leave home without having a handful of KIND bars — portable and delicious. Another must is Aquaphor since I wear it on my lips to moisturize all day, my Polar RC3 heartrate monitor to track all my daily activity and an extra sports bra and tank top to have to change into. I (of course) always carry a few extra diapers and wipes too (for my son!) but that’s not so stylish — just super practical.

Jennifer Cohen is a lifestyle and fitness spokesperson, KIND bars brand ambassador and TV personality. Her new book Strong is the New Skinny is available now, and follows the success of her 2009 bestseller No Gym Required – Release Your Inner Rock Star. For more, follow her on Twitter.

Have you bought anything you loved lately? In the PEOPLE StyleWatch offices, the answer to that question is usually “Yes.” This week, we’re sharing our absolute can’t miss picks in our gallery, What We’re Loving Right Now -— as well Ilaria Urbinati’s amazing new handbag.

Ilaria Urbinati, Celebrity Stylist: I am dying for a Mansur Gavriel mini bucket bag — the royal one they do is the best shade of blue! It’s the sleekest, cleanest bag I’ve seen in years — I love that it doesn’t have big logos on it of any kind. It’s so smooth I just want to lick it. I love the juxtaposition of such a sleek bag in a pop of color. It would make any outfit instantly cooler.

If I had this bag, I would wear it with a casual outfit, like jeans and a neutral colored top, and letting the color of the accessories be the focus. I’ve been really loving playing with colors lately, both with my accessories and in other fun ways, which is why I’ve been obsessed with the AirOptix Colors line. I’d never worn contacts before, but these enhance the natural color of my eyes (subtly!).

Ilaria Urbinati is a celebrity stylist with clients including Shailene Woodley, James Marsden and Nina Dobrev (who also touts the Air Optix Colors line). You can folllow her on Twitter and Instagram for more.

Sophie Simmons, Model and Actress: Like any fashion girl, I have 1 million pairs of black boots in my closet. But for some reason I keep going back to these Rag & Bone ones. They are the perfect height and they are comfortable enough to travel in. They give me that chic model-off-duty look while I am running through airports catching flights. These boots have been to seven different countries with me in the past two years. They are my go-to, my most reliable.

Have you bought anything you loved lately? In the PEOPLE StyleWatch offices, the answer to that question is usually “Yes.” This week, we’re sharing our absolute can’t miss picks in our gallery, What We’re Loving Right Now — as well as Real Housewife of Beverly Hills Yolanda Foster’s Tom Ford Beauty bronzer.

What W're Buying Yolanda FosterCourtesy Yolanda Foster

Yolanda Foster, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star:
I always get stuck using the same makeup that I have used for years, but I am learning about all kinds of great new beauty secrets from the new generation. Gigi [Hadid, her daughter, who models for Tom Ford] introduced me to the new Tom Ford Beauty bronzer, and I became instantly addicted and won’t leave home without it. It’s this amazing silky, lightweight bronzer that flawlessly highlights the skin’s natural glow and bone structure to give it the healthy no-makeup look that I love. The compact is beautiful with a practical large mirror inside, and I proudly carry it with me wherever I go. It reminds me of my Gigi and how this youngster introduced me to this extraordinary line of cosmetics.

Yolanda Foster is on the show Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which premieres tonight, and she is also an outspoken survivor of Lyme disease and advocates for awareness causes. Keep up with her on Instagram, as well as the work of her daughters, Gigi, Bella (on Twitter) and Anwar.

What We're Buying: Jaime King's Meaningful Tattoo

Have you bought anything you loved lately? In the PEOPLE StyleWatch offices, the answer to that question is usually “Yes.” This week, we’re sharing our absolute can’t miss picks in our gallery, What We’re Loving Right Now — as well as actress Jaime King’s heartfelt tattoo.

What We're Buying: Jaime King's TattooCourtesy of Sarah Kinonen

Jaime King, Hart of Dixie star and Nouráge Hair Vitamins ambassador: The thing I most recently bought was a tattoo. From Mark Mahoney, which was like my dream come true — he’s probably the world’s best tattoo artist. People fly all over the world, and there’s like a 10-year waiting list even if he takes you. Every day I said my dream was to get a tattoo from Mark Mahoney. I’ve been saying it for months and months and months. So when I wrapped my show, I just had this feeling, “I’m going to go to the tattoo shop. I really want to go by there … I just want to see it. I just want to experience it.” And he was there! At one o’clock! And he’s never there. He’s never there during the day and only there after 10. And he doesn’t take appointments. So I was like, “Can I please meet Mark Mahoney?” And he came down and was like, “How is your baby?” He like knew everything about me, and it was so crazy because it was meant to be!

This thing is very, very special to me because I wanted to get a tattoo symbolizing the birth of my son and everything that we went through, which I just did a whole profile with PEOPLE about. So, this is the thing that I bought that means the most to me.

It has a lot of meaning to it. It says “Knight” on the blade because his name is James Knight with a “K.” (People think Knight’s his middle name, but it’s not.) It’s got the heart, representing the trinity of the three of us, and the praying hands — we prayed to conceive him because I have endometriosis and it took many years to conceive — and that he came from the heavens. And the idea of the sword; if you look up [the] meaning of swords, obviously every night carried one, but it’s also like to cut through any illusions and any spiritual truth. So it’s something that carries a lot of meaning to me — more meaning than I could possibly buy at Barney’s.

Jaime King is on the show Hart of Dixie , and she is also a brand ambassador for Nouráge Hair Vitamins, which benefits Locks of Love. She also recently helped Carmen Steffens launch its Las Vegas store. Keep up with her on Instagram and Twitter.

Claire Coffee, Grimm star: My favorite new find is this oversize turtleneck from J. Crew. I’m of the opinion that one can never have too many stripes, and I love the length and slouchy cut of this cotton gem! It somehow manages to look polished while being completely comfortable. It’s perfect. And I certainly appreciate the relaxed fit for the approaching holiday season (and the mashed potatoes that come with it).

Claire Coffee is on the show Grimm, which airs Fridays at 9 p.m. on NBC. Keep up with her on Instagram and Twitter.

Have you bought anything you loved lately? In the PEOPLE StyleWatch offices, the answer to that question is usually “Yes.” This week, we’re sharing our absolute can’t-miss picks in our gallery, What We’re Loving Right Now — as well as TV personality and model Petra Němcová’s stylish bracelets.

Petra Nemcová, TV host, model and philanthropist: Right now I am loving these bracelets. They’re Chopard. They made them for my charity, Happy Hearts Fund, and a portion of the proceeds will go toward the Happy Hearts Fund. They are like part of my skin — I keep playing with them all of the time and keep them on for photo shoots. It’s the strangest thing, because normally for a photo shoot you take everything off, but I’ve worn them on several commercial shoots and covers shoots. They are just like a part of me now.

Petra Nemcová is an international model, TV host and philanthropist. Aside from her personal charity, Happy Hearts Fund, Petra recently partnered with Rampage for their “Shop Peacefully” Black Friday promotion. Keep up with the star on Twitter and Instagram.

Have you bought anything you loved lately? In the PEOPLE StyleWatch offices, the answer to that question is usually “Yes.” This week, we’re sharing our absolute can’t-miss picks in our gallery, What We’re Loving Right Now — as well as the stylish tray Louise Roe is giving to her closest pals.

Louise Roe trayCourtesy Louise Roe

Louise Roe, stylist, TV personality and author: I love this Hand-Cut Glass Tray from Anthropologie because it is modern, elegant and has a very stylish, retro feel to it. Plus it’s huge, so sitting atop a chest of drawers or a bathroom countertop, it keeps everything neatly fitted together in one curated area. I’d pair the gift with a bottle or two of fragrance because it’s a personal, thoughtful gift to choose a scent for somebody, and it will add to their home déor vibe, too. I’d try to find a special scent in an uniquely shaped bottle or with similar gold tones, to complement the tray.”

Louise Roe’s first book, Front Roe, hits stands this Spring. Track more of her style tips at LouiseRoe.com. To find fragrances for everyone on your holiday gift list visit kohls.com.

Party-Perfect Puckers! 7 Lipsticks We're Swearing By From Now Until the Ball Drops

One of the most overheard phrases in the PEOPLE StyleWatch office is “I love that lipstick — where did you get it?!” And now more than ever, with our complexions at their palest and the party circuit at its highest, we’re finding ourselves reaching for the brightest, boldest and prettiest shades in our arsenals. See what we’ll be wearing tonight, through the weekend and well into New Year’s — and share your favorite lip picks in the comments!

Best lipsticks of 2014Courtesy Editors

Colleen Kratofil, Assistant Producer: As someone who rarely strays from the play-it-safe red and pink color families, this Cynthia Rowley Creamy Lip Stain in Dahlia made me very hesitant — on first glance the shade seemed much brighter than the deep plum promised. But after trying it, I love how demure the eggplant tint looks. The stain is super smooth, long-lasting has an added bonus: It’s vegan, cruelty-free and paraben-free. Win, win and win.

Catherine Kast, Style Writer: If you like to eat everything at cocktail parties, you and I have something in common. So I’m forgoing a high maintenance lip in favor of one that can facilitate treat-eating. Behold, a Frozen-inspired pout thanks to Lipstick Queen’s “Ice Queen.” To avoid looking like I kissed Olaf the Snowman, I layered the snowy shade over a touch of “Coffee Break,” a shimmery nude from Queen Latifah’s collaboration with Covergirl.

Brittany Talarico, Style News Editor: Unlike some of my fellow editors, I’m not a pro lipstick wearer, but I do love to amp up my pout around the holidays. Luckily, I found the perfect product for non-lipstick wearers like myself. Almay’s Smart Shade Butter Kiss colors go-on crazy smooth (seriously, it feels like you’re putting on a balm), and the “Red Light” shade is now my new go-to for parties. And no, I didn’t plan for my lips to match my blazer.

Jackie Fields, Beauty Writer: This season I’m going for gold — gold lips ,that is. That’s right, I’m shelving my traditional rouge in favor of something outside of the gift-wrapped box: Tom Ford’s new gilded shade, “Blake,” from the designer’s latest collection, “Lips & Boys”. So far I’ve worn this metallic hue to a holiday party hosted by my BFF, where I scored major compliments. Even better? My decked-out pout was the perfect excuse to decline all the desserts!

Loni Venti, Style and Beauty Editor: Everyone and their sister will be wearing red lips for December 24 (yawn), so I’m taking a not #basic route and flaunting this epic indigo hue (a combination of Manic Panic’s “Enchanted Forest” and “Violet Night”). The shade names sound more festive than a candy cane and I love how the finished product contrasts against my snowman-esque complexion. Sure, the fam may not be totally on board … but by that point, my gifts will be wrapped and safely placed beneath the tree, so they can’t switch me to the “naughty list” last minute. Worst case scenario: I’ll have a blue Christmas.

Sarah Kinonen, Editorial Assistant: First of all, I don’t do selfies. Not because I don’t like taking photos of myself, but honestly, I can’t ever seem to coordinate the posing/timing/photo capturing all in one fell swoop. (The evidence is in the right-hand corner of the photo where my hand managed to sneak in.) Regardless, here’s the colorful (and super moisturizing) lip shade I’ll be rocking all through my New Year’s Eve party. Clinique’s Long Last Soft Matte Lipstick in “Matte Plum”, $16, is the perfect pop of color that comes in a velvety, matte finish, which will last for hours long after the ball drops.

Alex Apatoff, Senior Style Editor: I wear red lipstick so often that my coworkers will drop off vivid sample tubes in my office, saying, “This is such an ‘Alex color.'” So the color I wear from Christmas until the last ornament comes down (on, like, Jan. 16 — I’m kinda obsessed with our Christmas tree) has to be an extra-special shade. Like this Gucci hue, called, appropriately, “Iconic Red.” It’s super-intense, super-matte (and thus super-glam) and I’m super excited not be frantically reapplying as the countdown begins at 11:58 — this stuff isn’t going anywhere, Champagne be damned.

Editors' Picks: We're Kicking Off Our New Year's Eve in These Sexy Shoes

If you’re the type of person who buys a new pair of shoes for New Year’s Eve, and then plans the rest of the outfit around them, you’re not alone. PEOPLE style editors feel the same way! Below, the sparkly kicks we plan to dance all night in (or you know, look cute around our apartments in).

New Year's Eve Shoe InspirationCourtesy Sarah Flint; Nine West; Melissa; Sam Edelman; Piperlime; Steve Madden; Stubbs & Woonton

Brittany Talarico, Style News Editor: My husband told me if I buy one more dress this year, he’s going to well, use your imagination. But he didn’t say anything about shoes. So as I promised, I’m going to recycle my go-to LBD, but add some oomph (and sparkle!) with these Sam Edelman “Dani” pumps.

Sarah Kinonen, Editorial Assistant: While I know that flats are a practical shoe for New Year’s Eve, I’ll be dressing up and wearing these shiny silver Seychelles “Majestic” heels, $110, to welcome 2015. Paired with a bold lip and some sparkly baubles, I’m all set for a festive night out!

Catherine Kast, Style Writer: I’m content to be hosting a small dinner party rather than hitting the club this eve, so I’ve decided to forgo heels altogether in favor of festive slip-ons like these Stubbs and Wootton gnome-embroidered slippers. I’m thinking pairing these with navy swiss dot tights and a red A-Line mini just might be a cute and cozy way to ring in 2015.

Alex Apatoff, Senior Style Editor: Just like I had to stop buying “going out dresses” at Forever 21 (R.I.P., party wardrobe), I also had to come to terms with the fact that buying sky-high, strappy stilettos I can wear once a year is not the best use of my closet space. So for fancy occasions, I look for a shoe that can multitask — like these Sarah Flint “Alexis” heels. Okay, they’re more of a fantasy splurge than an actual purchase, but between their celeb cult following, their notoriously comfortable construction and that sexy hint of silver at the heel, I’m almost tempted to whip out my credit card. If only “be more financially responsible” wasn’t one of my New Year’s resolutions!

Jackie Fields, Beauty Writer: One of my New Year’s resolutions is to learn to walk in heels. So, why not start a few hours early? These bright red open-toe booties from Nine West and a blingy necklace will be all I need to jazz up my party uniform (which consists of a sequined black tank and my darkest, skinniest of skinny jeans). And, should I not make it to midnight in these darling suede shoes, I’m packing my gold smoking slippers in my pocketbook as a respectable backup.

Colleen Kratofil, Assistant Producer: To kick off the new year I want to go with a pump that’s a little different than my usual go-tos: black, nude and brown (yawn). Having a shoe collection that’s almost entirely comprised of neutrals doesn’t exactly pack a playful punch for a night like New Year’s Eve. That’s why I’m going with the bright purple Steve Madden “Rascaal” stiletto. Its snakeskin-like toe makes it a tad dressier, and the bold hue will perfectly complement the sparkly gold dress I plan to wear.

Loni Venti, Style and Beauty Editor: Full Disclosure: My better half bought me these two years ago when Alessandra Ambrosio collaborated with Melissa on a shoe collection. I had to have them. But like most things in my wardrobe, I lost them amongst a sea of heels I can hardly walk in and clutches I never use. I rediscovered them this week and my N.Y.e. outfit was fatefully determined! Well, at least the footwear. These babies are perfect for 12/31. They’re made of Melissa’s signature comfy rubber (which means you can dance until 3 a.m. pancakes) and coated in tons of glitter so you literally leave a trail of sparkle everywhere you go. Talk about blinging in the New Year. Bonus: they’re super on sale!

Have you bought anything you loved lately? In the PEOPLE StyleWatch offices, the answer to that question is usually “Yes.” We love to share our absolute can’t-miss picks in our gallery, What We’re Loving Right Now (and this week, we’re all about the bling) — as well as costume designer Jenny Gerings’s fave sexy, stylish bag!

Trayce Gigi Field costume designerCourtesy Coach; Inset: Courtesy Michael Williams

Jenny Gering, costume designer for The Americans: The Coach “Swagger” bag in “Wild Beast” is my current fave. It’s disguised as a chic “lady bag” with a twist. The classic animal print gets an update from artist Gary Baseman and the result is an elegant carry all that doesn’t take itself too seriously. This is the bag I use all week for work, and on the weekends the laptop comes out and I wear it with vintage Levi’s and Margiela ankle boots. Perfection.

Jenny Gering is the costume designer on the FX hit The Americans, which returns for a third season tomorrow, Jan. 28, at 10 p.m. EST. She also collaborated with Cosabella on a line of lingerie inspired by the show’s sexy plotlines. Shop it here, and keep up with Jenny at her site!
